Ed Pierson was born and raised in the Washington, DC area. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Navy Flight School, and George Mason University. He served in the Navy for 30 years (active & reserves). Ed held several military leadership positions including Naval Flight Officer, Mission Commander, Maintenance Officer, Instructor Tactical Coordinator, Squadron Commanding Officer, Leadership Instructor, Chief Staff Officer, and Joint Operations Center Director. At the Boeing Company, Ed held a variety of leadership positions including Flight Operations Senior Manager working inside the Flight Test & Evaluation organization and Senior Manager, Production System Support working within the 737 Program. Throughout his career, Ed has served as a volunteer and chair of safety committees.
